  • The Apps gives an variation of choices to use public transport for a more joyful commute experience. The commuters discover local buisness and take break from everyday life.
  • For many commuters, the journey from A to B is often seen as a burden. They are unaware of where they are passing through and what is special about these places. The choice of travel medium is also often not questioned by many persons. This is where Urs comes in. Urs knows the most beautiful corners of Switzerland and how best to travel sustainable travel.
Urs is the mascot on the "Frag Urs" website and accompanies the user through the site.
The aim of the app is to rediscover the routes that commuters take every day, or to rediscover everyday life in general.
At the beginning, the user should enter his departure and destination points. From this, the site calculates three routes. A fast one, a slightly longer one and an even longer one, which is a bit more exciting for that. The traveler can then select the route from A to B based on their available time and and receives suggestions of what he might discover on the way to his destination. For example, the suggests that the first part of the journey be made by bicycle, with a visit to the local bakery. The website serves as an information platform to find attractions on a route. It should work on all devices (smartphones, tablets, desktops).
If the "Ask Urs" portal is used frequently, the application could in future evolve from an information platform to an everyday companion. If "Frag Urs" were to be developed as a smartphone app, users could users could collect points with the help of GPS and movement data. On the one hand, climate points could be collected by the use of train and bus as well as fitness points, which could be earned by cycling or walking. These points could then be used, for example as vouchers for local shops.

    [Frauen am BAUHAUS
    • The Bauhaus women always stood in the background of the male artists, although the women made rich tapestries and carpets. To get this feeling of the artists standing in the background, the user must approach the carpets to see them.
    • At first, my intention was to combine textiles with interior design, since the Bauhaus had an all-round concept. After some research and background knowledge, I focused the content entirely on the women at the Bauhaus in weaving.
The medium of the website doesn't feel very handmade, in contrast to the carpets the Bauhaus women made in the weaving studio, so my first thought was to design an interactive carpet. However, the technical implementation was not to be underestimated and I decided to return to the basic idea of combining the textile works with interior design.
On my website you can see rooms that existed in the Bauhaus or they were planned to be. The carpets, mostly tapestries are placed as white squares to show that without these works the rooms are partly cool and unfinished.
It was interesting to look into the lives and their works, of these very different six women. There were also a few men working in the weaving studio, but the studio was titled as a "women's class".
For me personally, it gave a better understanding of women's history of the last century and it surprised me how modern these women were in the Bauhaus 100 years ago.
